Hi! My name is Cheri DeLap.  I grew up in Metamora and moved to Washburn 5 years ago.  I greatly enjoy the small town atmosphere without being too far from the city.

I became the Water/Sewer Billing Clerk in May of 2007.  Since then, there have been several positive changes to the Water/Sewer Department, all for the betterment of the Village of Washburn.  In August of 2008, I was approached to become the Village Treasurer.  I accepted the Treasurer position, in addition to the Billing Clerk, and the rest is history…if I’ve learned anything…“Some days you’re the dog, some days you’re the hydrant”, as my desk paper weight states.  I have found you just keep smiling because it will take you a lot farther!

Over the past year, we have made a lot of progressive changes in this position as well.  It has been challenging, as well as, rewarding.  I enjoy working with my fellow co-workers, Board Members and most of all, the Public!  Everyday adds a bit of mystery to my job, not knowing what awaits my arrival!  Sometimes you have to look past the rain to find the rainbow!  As always, have a wonderful day & remember to keep smiling! =)
